Visio
The Faculty of Dentistry at King Abdulaziz University is
aspired to lead in culminating quality and innovative
education and learning through the effective application of
e-learning systems that are based on the latest means of
information and communication technology.
Mission
The e-learning unit in the Faculty of Dentistry is an
academic unit that contributes to the educational
development and change sought by King Abdulaziz University.
The unit also supports the goals of the Faculty of Dentistry
in graduating highly effective and efficient students who
can act as strategic partners in the development of science
and education. The mission of the e-learning unit has been
evolved from the concept that: (Information and
communication technology is the key to opening new
possibilities for education to meet the requirements of the
current era). In achieving such mission, the unit is seeking
to provide the needed support to all faculty members in
implementing the latest e-learning systems and technologies.
Goals

Create an interactive learning environment for both
teachers and students.

Raise teachers’ roles and performance to cope with the
advances in educational technology.

Enrich the educational process with a variety of formats
of information resources.

Prepare future generations with the skills required to
participate in the modern knowledge and communication
world.

Raise awareness about e-learning and technology to
create a society that is capable to cope with the
advances in the current era.

Acquire international accreditation in e-learning.
Services

Support faculty members in designing and developing the
e-courses following the international standards (SCORM).

Support students in using the learning management system
provided by the college.

Coordinate with the Deanship of E-Learning and Distance
Learning in using the e-learning systems.

Conduct regular courses and workshops on e-learning.
Present updates and news in the field of
e-learning and educational technology.
