        Call for Abstract Form

 

Abstract Submission Rules and Guidelines

  1. Individuals may present only one abstract.

  2. Submitted abstract must be original research, systematic review, or case report.

  3. Individuals can co-author multiple abstracts.

  4. Previously published abstracts (in print or electronically) or those presented at another meeting are not allowed.

  5. Abstracts must be submitted via the following e-mail: kaufdc4@gmail.com   

  6. Approval of all co-authors is required before putting their names on the abstract.

  7. Abstracts submission deadline is August 1st 2015.

 

Important Abstract Elements

  1. Abstracts should be submitted in the assigned template. Other forms of submissions will not be accepted.

  2. Careful proofreading is necessary, including: authors' names, titles, organizations, abstract title, and abstract body. If your abstract is accepted, it will be reproduced in the conference scientific program exactly as submitted in this form.

  3. A photograph and a brief resume of the presenting author including the education/qualifications, present title, last 5 published articles (if any) and 5 recent presentations (national/international) should be submitted with this form.

  4. Funding support must be identified.

 

Important Submission Elements

Titles: Abstract titles are limited to 10 words or less (make the title dynamic and conclusive, rather than descriptive) and should be entered in title case (AP Style) format. In general, you should capitalize the first letter of each word unless it is a preposition or article. Do italicize scientific names of organisms such as streptococci or candida.

Authors: Enter first (given) name, and last (family/surname) name for each author plus institution/affiliation.

Abstract Text: All abstracts should be no more than 300 words (Arial font 12).

Content of the Abstract: Titles, authors and authors' affiliations are not included in the 300 word limit. The abstract must contain a brief statement of:

a. The objectives of the investigation, b. Experimental methods used,

c. Essential results, including data and, where appropriate, statistics,

d. Conclusion

Presenter Agreement

All presenters must agree to the following conditions when submitting an abstract:

  1. Affirm that any work with human or animal subjects reported in the abstract complies with the guiding principles for experimental procedures found in the Declaration of Helsinki of the World Medical Association, and this research project has been properly cleared by my Institutional Review Board (IRB) or Institutional Ethics Committee or an equivalent ethical body.

  2. Affirm that the work has not been published (in print or electronically) or presented elsewhere prior to the conference Meeting.

  3.  Agree that if the abstract is accepted, the 4th International Conference of King Abdulaziz University has permission to publish the abstract in printed and/or electronic formats.

  4. Agree to pre-register for the conference and pay the appropriate registration fee by the presenter pre-registration announced deadline.

        Failure to pre-register will result in automatic withdrawal from the Program Book and the Online Abstract System.

 

Criteria for Abstract Submission

All abstracts will be reviewed by an impartial panel of reviewers. Presentations will be selected on the basis of the scientific and grammatical quality of the work as judged from the abstract.

The following criteria will be assessed:

1. Abstract is an original research, systematic review, or case report.

2. The research is innovative in its approach to the stated problem.

3. Nature of problem is explicit from title and abstract.

4. Material is not related to another abstract submitted by the same co-authors.

5. Abstract has neither been presented at other meeting(s) nor previously published.

6. Abstract well organized and complete.

7. Methods of obtaining data are appropriate with respect to the stated problem for the following reasons:

  1. Methods are sufficiently precise to permit the measurements to be accurate.

  2. Sampling method contains inherent discriminatory factors are recognized.

  3. Size of sample sufficient to show significant conformity or differences.

  4. Well-defined criteria were given for evaluation of variables.

  5. Presence of control groups.

    8. Significance of results related to the nature of the problem being studied is clearly stated.

    9. Conclusions follow as a consequence of the method of analysis applied to the data.

 

10. Abstract is correct word count.

Notifications of Acceptance/Non-Acceptance

  • The official notifications will be emailed to the applicant no more than 7th of September 2015 to all accepted presenters. The notifications will include presentation mode assignment (oral or poster) date, and session time. An email containing your Final Presentation # will be sent after the Presenter Pre-registration deadline, to all registered, accepted presenters.

  • Submissions will be acknowledged within 5 working days and a notification of acceptance will be sent one to two months prior to the event.

  • For any withdrawals, please e-mail us as soon as possible and not beyond 1st of September 2015.

  • All speakers/presenters are responsible in obtaining their own travel expenses including their visas and arranging for their own accommodations.

PLEASE NOTE: All communication between the scientific committee and the presenter will take place via email. The email address used will be the one you supply when submitting your abstract for the PRESENTING AUTHOR.
