Abstract : The objective of the present study was to investigate whether there was a significant difference or not in mesiodistal tooth width between the right and left sides in a Saudi sample. The measurements were obtained from 720 teeth of pretreatment orthodontic study casts. The results showed no significant statistical difference between right and left sides, which in agreement with literature. Thus, measurement of one side could be regaded as truly representative when the corresponding measurement on the other side was unobtainable
