Abstract : The present study was conducted to determine the levels of serum and gingival tissue zinc and magnesium among controlled clinically type II diabetic pregnant women. healthy pregnant women and non-pregnant.non-diabetic controls. and their relation to the gingival and periodontal condition. A total of seventy patients participated in this study. They were divided into Group I: It consisted of thirty healthy pegnant women. further subdivided into: Group II: It consisted of thirty controlled clinically type II diabetic pregnant women. further subdivided into: Subgroup l' 10 controlled clinically type II diabetic pregnant women in the first trimester. Subgroup 2 10 controlled clinically type II diabetic pregnant women in the second trimester. Subgroup 3 10 controlled clinically type 1+ diabetic pregnant women in the third trimester. Group III:lContr-ol group) It consisted of ten non-pregnant, non-diabetic, healthy women.
