Laboratories:
Treatment steps are assisted by laboratories equipped with the latest equipment to raise the standard of education process and provide the best laboratory services to patients. Laboratories are considered an important factor for the success of education process in the college. Therefore, the university has given laboratories the utmost interest through their integrated establishment with modern and up-to-date technological devices and providing all their needs of highly-efficient technicians. Laboratory services can be divided into two divisions:
First division: Productive labs for serving dental clinics. It represents the major production of types of fixed fixtures, partial and total movable dental sets, making orthodontic devices and Pedodontics cases.
Productive labs consist of three major parts:
1. General section which is concerned with major production of all types of fixtures and orthodontic devices.
2. Specific section for metal casting which contains internal devices and equipment for melting and casting for making movable and fixed dental sets.
3. Specific section of porcelain for making modern dental porcelain. It also contains furnaces and equipment for producing porcelain.
Second division:
Student training labs. These labs are divided into two sections:
1. Simulation labs: Here, students in pre-clinical stage are trained using devices and maquettes that simulate and look like clinical situation in therapeutic clinics in terms of sitting position, using tools and conducting necessary treatment including fillings, fixtures and artificial teeth. The capacity of each laboratory is 80 units for students after expansion.
2. Dental replacement labs: Here, students are trained on making types of fixed and Removable fixtures and orthodontic devices in addition to using different devices, equipment and different types of dental materials. The capacity of each lab is 80 units for students after expansion.
* The capacity of labs of female students is 60 units in each lab. They will be expanded to 80 units in the near future.
